After 10 years in the corporate world, Colleen Coy decided to get back to her love of animals. Her knowledge of animals stems from her 5+ years experience working in Veterinary Hospitals and Pet Stores. She has experience handling and treating all kinds of animals, for example: rodents, reptiles, birds, fish, snakes, dogs, cats, ferrets, etc.
Colleen is a qualified PetTech Instructor and teaches courses on Pet First Aid and Safety for Your Pet.
Colleen lives in Felida with her three dogs; Shasta, Dealer and River. Shasta is an old girl and she loves bossing around the boys. You are likely to see Dealer and River driving around with Colleen in her SUV as they like to help out with some of the pet sitting business. They are typical, hard working Australian Shepherds.

- Service area:
- Joyce services Eastern Clark County
- Background:
-
As a child on her family’s dairy farm at the foot of Mt. Adams, Joyce spent hours taming wild barn cats. Besides helping with the dairy cows and calves, she had a menagerie of pigs, a lamb, baby ducks, and a turkey. On the farm were also Peanuts, the cow dog, along with pack mules for hunting, and horses. A later addition to the family was Joe, a St. Bernard who cavorted in the deep snow while Joyce snowshoed.
To support her early college pre-veterinary medicine studies, Joyce worked on several dairy farms in Clark County. She wrote an article on raising dairy calves for Hoard’s Dairyman, and was a speaker at a dairy convention.
While she completed her degree in business and raised her children, Joyce and her family enjoyed the company of a German Shepherd, cats, hamsters, a rat, fish, and a toad.
An outdoor person, Joyce loves to enhance her connection with nature in everyday living. She grows her own sprouts and organic greens year around, and is an enthusiastic student of Aikido (www.shugenkai.com) and Natural Vision (www.clearvisionnaturally.com). After focusing on the mineral kingdom in her marine electrical work, and the plant kingdom with organic gardening, Joyce is delighted to return to the world of animal companions.

Chris’s interest in animals started the day she was born on a dairy farm in Connecticut! At three years old she was on a workhorse used to plow the family’s vegetable fields. Her love of horses led to many years of barrel racing and horse shows.Chris wanted to be a veterinarian but was discouraged by her local vet saying it was not an easy career for women--she wishes she could get her hands on him today!
Her life took her in a different direction owning and running a management consulting firm for almost 20 years. After selling the business, Chris spent many years doing volunteer work for various non- profits. This was very rewarding, but didn’t give her an “animal” fix. One day she saw an article in The Columbian about Sit & Stay, called Colleen Waters, the owner, and the rest is history.
She spends many days walking beautiful, playful dogs; tending birds; rabbits; and cats. Chris lives in Vancouver with her husband and three very spoiled cats that she introduces to everyone as “our girls”. Miss LuLu and Miss Snickerdoodle are seen here in the photo. Miss Pumpkin Pie refuses to be in a photo with the other kids, she would like to be an only child!
